The exuberant NV Gruber Röschitz By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner shines like the sun and brings a smile to every occasion. Not only does this sparkling wine have eye appeal, it offers an enticing aroma of freshly picked mountain apples, hints of citrus, ripe pears and more. A delicate mousse carries the wine’s lovely aroma through to the palate, offering a mélange of exotic fruits and deft touches of spice before exiting with a satisfying flourish. Enjoy the delightful NV Gruber Röschitz By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner well chilled (37º-40º F) before imbibing. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2026. Enjoy!

The NV Gruber Röschitz By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner provides the ideal aperitif. It shines equally in the company of appetizers, charcuterie, delicate seafood specialties, and a host of fine cow’s milk cheeses. Salmon mousse, blue crab dip, and assorted canapés make especially fine accompaniments. Ripe melon squares topped with mint and prosciutto offers another refreshing pairing. Roast turkey with all of the trimmings offers another tasty companion. And, we are fond of consuming the exuberant By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner after dinner or at any time of day with apples, grapes, pears, and again with Alpine cheeses such as Appenzeller or Emmenthaler. Guten Appetit!

The Gruber family, located in the tiny village of Röschitz in Austria’s Weinviertal wine region, fashions compelling Riesling and Grüner Veltliner from organic grapes grown in their own vineyards. Each family owned and run winery possesses its own story. In the case of the Gruber family, we are delighted to let them tell their own unique story:

“We go further together and work with each other for one collective goal: To make authentic wines in our homeland Röschitz in Weinviertal. Whether in the vineyards, cellar or marketing, we share the work and prosper together. All along the way, we have been inspired and supported by our parents and grandparents. That’s right, it is Family Business.

“Since 2013, we have been using organic methods to cultivate the various plots of land in our winery. We do it out of conviction, not because it is in fashion. The extra hard work it demands (and less yield) reimburses us with more identity and character in our wines: Allowing nature to take the reins, we promote the self-healing powers of the vines to support the most valuable resources – the soils of our homeland. We produce wines, the way we love them.”

We love them, too. Gruber’s wines are garnering international attention and critical acclaim with consistent 90+ point ratings in Europe. The Grubers’ wines all emanate from organic grapes and are vegan friendly, including their By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner NV (this month’s feature) and equally delicious still Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. Taste and see for yourself why this organic producer has become so highly sought after!

Gruber Röschitz’s By Nature Sparkling Grüner Veltliner NV is a dry sparkling wine. It is a wine that is under pressure. It should always be well chilled before opening. Always exercise caution when opening a bottle of sparkling wine. Point the bottle away from people and objects. Use a clean towel or cloth to firmly grip the bottle. Gently remove the wire stopper while firmly holding the cork in place. Then with thumb and forefinger, remove the cork slowly from the bottle. Do not let the cork fly. Enjoy!
